Board Nominations & Elections

The transformation of Injured Workers' Insurance Fund to Chesapeake Employers' Insurance Company has been an exciting process and one that has proven beneficial to our policyholders and agents. This process will continue at the annual meeting of policyholders to be held in June 2021, where the policyholders will elect two individuals to Chesapeake Employers' Board of Directors.

Each member of the Board of Directors must be a resident of the State of Maryland. Additionally, the Directors elected at the 2021 annual meeting of policyholders must have the following qualifications:

(A) one must be an individual who is a current Chesapeake Employers' policyholder or, an equity holder or, employee of a current policyholder; and

(B) one must have significant experience in the investment business. 

These requirements are set forth in Maryland’s Insurance Article as well as Chesapeake Employers' Corporate Bylaws.

At the close of the application process, applications will be reviewed by the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of Chesapeake Employers' Board of Directors with the full Board then recommending applicants to be placed on the ballot.

April 16, 2021: Voting Begins

How to cast your vote

ONLINE

Follow the instructions provided in the separate proxy card you received in the mail. Proxy cards were mailed on April 16, 2021 to each policyholder's address on record.


MAIL

Send your completed and signed proxy card to the address on your proxy card.


IN PERSON*

Ballots will be provided to anyone who attends and wants to vote at the Annual Meeting.

* In light of COVID-19 and ongoing social distancing requirements, there is limited capacity for in-person attendance at the annual meeting. If you wish to attend in person, you must preregister by sending an email to dhamilton@ceiwc.com, including your name and title, the policyholder name and policy number, and the member number printed on your proxy card.

June 23, 2021 at 10:00 A.M.: Annual Meeting of Policyholders

All votes will be tallied and announced at the annual meeting and two (2) new Directors will be added to the Board of Directors effective immediately following the annual meeting.

Anyone wishing to join the meeting virtually must pre-register using the link below. All registrations will be reviewed, and an email confirmation and password will be provided. Please note that you will not be able to submit your vote at the annual meeting through this link. Please follow the instructions above for submitting your vote.
